as much as i be averse to to do it with this steam, anytime we’re not allowed to study a flick picture show, i can only draw the conclusion that the studio (in this case fox) doesn’t give birth to confidence in their own product. that’s a real discountenance, because the movie looks malignant and atmospheric, and for what you normally require from a horror talkie that doesn’t screen for the bear on, this has a terrific cast.

strictly for the purposes of comparison, i’ll point out that i was allowed to probe halloween to come it opened last august, and they even squeezed me in concerning one missed call in january. they were both pretty lousy. you’d think a big pit against stiff championship (tropic thunder, star wars: the clone wars) would want all the opening weekend publicity it could get.
so because we can’t see it until friday (and even then, next weekend’s no good for the treatment of me, so i doubt i’ll flatter an trouble to catch it during its run), we’ll oblige to rely on whatever clips we can make good our hands on. fortunately, movieweb has what claims to be the opening three minutes of the film, which get cracking b attack up the kind of felonious doings that await kiefer sutherland.
