I imagine it’s not too tough to imagine that scenario.
Given a limited budget, you’re faced with decisions on where to spend a limited amount of money on pay per click advertising.
One approach I’ve been discussing lately with colleagues is - given a choice - would you be better off starting on the near or far end of the long tail of keywords. Should you spend your limited funds on gaining visibility on the most common search terms used in your industry? Or should you focus on the most specific terms a person may type into a search engine that are also relevant?
In my opinion, a business would generally be better off starting at the far right and working their way to the left from there up to what their budget allows. This strategy allows businesses to focus limited ad dollars on the most targeted terms that are further down the buying cycle. Terms in this category tend to be cheaper on a per click basis and convert at a higher rate than higher search volume, more generic terms.

It’s an odd movie week for me because there’s not too much being released. There is one major release in the backdrop of three other limited releases; however, of those three limited releases two are being re-released to the American market. So it’s an all-around lame movie week.It’s as if the industry is forcing consumers to see their one blockbuster. When they do that, I usually resist. I’d rather stay home with my comfy Netflix movie and slippers than be told I have to go watch the next flick in the “Narnia” series. Unfortunately next week will be very similar with “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” towering over all other releases. Hey, I probably won’t be able to resist that. Come on, what girl doesn’t love Harrison Ford?I don’t have time for the theater this week anyway — it’s my god-daughter’s first birthday. There’s nothing better than a 1-year-old (or anyone for that matter) with cake all over her face. The weather is getting better, and I’ll need huge blockbusters to get me into theaters. Hollywood has to work extra hard.“The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” seems cool enough, but it’s the kind of movie I’ll have to take my nephews to see. It’s more great special effects and great story, but definitely a kid flick. As a child, I read all of C.S. Lewis’ chronicles, but the only movie was in my mind. With filmmakers spelling it all out in vivid detail for children, what is their incentive to read Lewis’ stories? I have some conflicting emotions about these movies. I am curious, yet a bit resistant.Anyway the chronicles continue when the Pevensie children finally get to return to Narnia. However 1,300 years have passed in the magical Narnia, and everything and everyone they knew about it is dead and buried. In this time period there is King Miraz (Sergio Castellitto) to contest with, who rules with an iron fist. Lucy, Edmund, Peter and Susan must triumphantly return the displaced Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) back to the throne and bring peace to the world yet again.So in my protest of the mega-release and plans to avoid theaters altogether, I am reluctant to have to pick something to watch this week. Can’t I just stay home nights in my pajamas with my DVDs?I guess if I had to pick from the leftover limited releases, I’d skip “The Edge of Heaven” and “Sangre de mi Sangre.”“The Edge of Heaven” could be interesting, but I’m not quite sure I can follow the storyline. I can’t really tell what it’s about from a preview, but it seems to be about Nejat, whose father is dating a prostitute. When she dies, Nejat journeys to Turkey from Germany to find the prostitute’s daughter who is stuck in a Turkish prison. It seems interesting, but I have to watch on DVD because I imagine a lot of pausing and rewinding to understand.“Sangre de mi Sangre” tracks the story of Pedro (Jorge Adrian Espindola), an illegal immigrant from Mexico, trying to find his father in New York. It’s another rental that will give my remote control a workout.The only limited release that’s worthy of possible in-theater viewing is “Reprise.” The Scandinavian movie from Joachim Trier seems to develop characters more than any other out. It tells the tale of two aspiring writers, Philip and Erik, who mail their manuscripts to publishers at the same time, and one gets published, while the other does not. Their emotional upheavel and struggles seem visceral, although the two are highly intellectual. One New York Times critic hails it as “… one of the most passionately and intellectually uninhibited works from a young director I’ve seen in ages.” I look forward to seeing it, but if I don’t make it this weekend, DVD is all right, too.

I’ve been writing in major newspapers for over two decades. And in that time and the several years that I’ve maintained this site, I’ve never once been sued for defamation. That’s because I check and double- and triple-check everything I wrote that I independently report. I’m an attorney, and I know what defamation is. I don’t engage in it. And my credibility is important. If I don’t have solid proof and reliable sources to back up my information, I don’t run it.
Over the last 24 hours-plus, I’ve been inundated by inquiries from reporters and readers regarding my column on Ali Jawad, the Hezbollah agent and federally convicted insurance defrauder who was dumped by the John McCain campaign almost two weeks ago.
It’s the usual M.O. from the extremist Islamic community, and I was prepared.

In 2003, when–in response to a New York Post column I wrote–the FBI revoked a planned national award to “former” Islamic terrorist Imad Hamad, a man who engaged in marriage fraud to stay in the U.S., Hamad and his friend Osama Silbani had a whining press conference. They threatened to sue me–even though they knew they had no grounds, nor plans to actually follow through on what was an empty threat.
Yesterday, Ali Jawad and his close friend, Osama Siblani, Editor and Publisher of the Arab American News held a press conference to claim that everything I’ve written about Jawad is “untrue” and “rumor and innuendo” and that he doesn’t support Hezbollah. But Jawad would not specifically denounce or condemn Hezbollah at his press conference. And having Siblani–who repeatedly, openly praises Hezbollah in mainstream media sources–as the host of the event, doesn’t exactly help Jawad’s case. It just bolsters the very strong and iron-clad case I’ve made.
Here are some of Osama Siblani’s comments on Hezbollah and HAMAS, which he’s repeated on Detroit radio station WJR and on National Public Radio, as well as at multiple Hezbollah rallies at which he’s been a featured speaker:
when asked if hezbollah is a terrorist group, siblani replies, “no, they are not terrorists. absolutely not. no. they are freedom fighters.”
And what about Hamas? “Freedom fighters as well,” Siblani said.
Moreover, Siblani attended a Dearborn meeting described in Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Seyassah as a meeting of American Hezbollah operatives.
That Siblani hosted and conducted the press conference for Ali Jawad, who is now, suddenly, trying to distance himself from Hezbollah–the group he previously praised–should tell you something.
At yesterday’s press conference, neither Jawad nor Siblani would respond to any of the specific charges I’ve made about Jawad. That’s because everything I’ve written about Jawad is absolutely solid, and he knows it. He can’t refute it, so that’s why he issued a general, false “It’s not true” claim.
I didn’t make up the 2002 Detroit News article, in which Jawad praised Hezbollah and said it wasn’t a terrorist group. Funny now how he’s trying to pretend he didn’t say those things. Interesting that he didn’t protest this quote attributed to him, when the story ran back in 2002. That’s because he said it–that he supports Hezbollah–and he meant it.
And I didn’t make up his federal conviction for insurance fraud and the fact that he and his company, Armada Oil Company had to pay over $250,000 in fines and restitution for it. That’s not “rumor and innuendo,” nor is it “untrue,” as Jawad claimed at yesterday’s dysfunctional, yet predictable whine-fest.
Also not a rumor is the fact that his co-convict in USA v. Makki et al, Michael Mustapha Makki, is from the Hezbollah Makki family, many of whose members were convicted of smuggling cigarettes for Hezbollah–the same cigarettes he is accused of selling in his gas stations. Makki went to prison for his part in Jawad’s insurance fraud scheme. Why him and not Jawad? Draw your own conclusions.
Nor did I make up his two 2003 trips to Lebanon to meet up with his Hezbollah official buddies. I didn’t make up the fact that in 2003, Jawad accompanied indicted Hezbollah financier and fugitive Talal Chahine to Lebanon and that they visited Hezbollah strongholds. H
