Ryuji Imada wins AT&T Classic

Ryuji Imada got his first PGA Tour win in a playoff at the AT&T Classic after shooting 67 in the final round. He beat out Kenny Perry with a par on the first playoff hole.

After two rounds without a bogey, Imada was one-under after the first nine, with two birdies and a bogey. He started the back nine with three birdies in four holes and added another on the 18th hole to get to five-under on the day. With 69 in the final round, Perry made a bogey on the third hole but didn’t make another the rest of the day, carding four birdies including three on the back nine.

Camilo Villegas missed out on the playoff finishing one-shot back after a final round 66, moving up from ninth place. He shot 31 on the back nine with five birdies on the side. Jonathan Byrd used a final hole eagle to jump into fourth place. Parker McLachlin shot 67 in the final round to move into fifth place. He started the day with two birdies and closed out the front nine with three birdies and a bogey. The back started off promising with birdies on 11 and 12 and an eagle on the par-4 13th. But, he finished with three bogies over the last four holes, including the 18th.

Defending champion Zach Johnson shot 73 on Sunday to finish 34th. The 54-hole leader, Charles Howell III, carded three bogeys and a birdie on the front nine led to a two-over, 74, for an eighth place finish.
