Owners get 25 seized horses
the owners of 74 malnourished horses that were seized last month will get a third of those animals deceitfully, according to a deal announced friday in jessamine district court.
less than the agreement approved by judge janet booth, argo and sharon clagett will get 25 horses back. the clagetts obtain selected the 25 they want.
the horses have been cared for at private farms in jessamine and garrard counties since being seized march 26 and 27. the clagetts, who have raised tennessee walking horses, were charged with second-gradually animal cruelty, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in prison.
on friday afternoon, the clagetts took things seize of eight horses on dennis king’s delegate everywhere five miles southeast of nicholasville under the watchful eye of a jessamine county deputy sheriff. the clagetts had no comment on the court agreement reached between their attorney, david thomas, and jessamine county attorney brian goettl.
the clagetts rely on to retrieve an additional 17 horses on saturday and sunday.

on the evening of this april 23rd, 2006 i was heading limbourg (le trou du cul de la belgique, difficult to translate), a belgian village close to the german border to espy this “return to childhood tour”. and the concert was an excellent performance of this great singer.
The big man was in good shape: joking with the audience, having obviously fun, generating fun (which is not easy). In one word: a very good concert. And when I watch this DVD, I just feel the same, but with some more tenderness since I can testify with my flesh and bones about this tour.

Just a band playing good music and a front man being as charismatic as always and virtually at home in Amsterdam (but I have already mentioned that Fish IS at home in The Netherlands (just as “Genesis” was at home in Belgium in the very early seventies).

Of course, this representation won’t add anything new nor any better to the original work or concerts from the original period. BUT, this one was pure nostalgia (as the concert that I saw no later than yesterday with “Mick Pointer & Friends” performing “Script Of A Jester’s Tear”. Pure nostalgia and great moments of my (very long) musical life.

If ever you are looking for perfection and superb vocals, just past your way. This is a Fish performance recorded in 2006. As such, some imperfections are inevitable but the big man is always captivating, so “audience-friendly”, such a great showman. Hat’s off, Mister Fish. I will always respect you. And the beautiful work you have brought to us.

Artist Starving Dog?
A lot of people have been writing in about a story related to a Costa Rican artist named Guillermo Vargas who has reportedly starved a dog as part of an art installation. The reason weâve stayed quiet about this incident (in public, at least) is that if there is any truth at all to the allegations, the less publicity this man receives, the better. The best way to prevent desperate, ethically deficient â?artistsâ from getting what they want is to ignore the perpetrators in public and prosecute them in private.
However, just so everyone is clear on this, thereâs reason to believe that this may have been a stunt, and that some parts of this story (such as the starving of the dog) were actually fabricated for the sake of publicity. As this article in The Guardian notes,
â?juanita bermãºdez, steersman of the cã³dice gallery, insisted [the dog] escaped after just now one day. she said: âit was untied all the time except for the three hours the exhibition lasted and it was fed regularly with dog food [vargas] himself brought in.ââ
Whatever the cruel or weird game that Vargas is playing, if it turns out that he took this animal in and allowed her to go back out on the streets to fend for herself, he still needs to be held accountable for extreme cruelty to animals—but for the time being, the information is pretty patchy.
Weâre currently investigating the incident, and Iâll update this blog if we get more information. In the meantime, whether Vargas intended it or not, this whole thing does provide an insight into human nature that will be worth considering once weâre able to look at the big picture: If we can muster up this degree of outrage about one incident of animal suffering, why are we any less horrified by the billions upon billions of similar or worse cases of abuse that we can personally help to prevent?
