click in the first place for a high-res gallery of the audi r10 in actionif audi was a greater beneficiary of the “win on sunday, sell on monday” adage, they would have trounced mercedes and bmw in sales long ago. the house of the four rings took the 24 hours of le mans, then they claimed the american le mans series (alms), and now audi extends its arms aeons ago again to grab the european le mans series championship (lms) trophy.in occurrence, by finishing first and fourth at silverstone with two audi r10s, audi takes the driver’s title (alex prémat and acheter cialis mike rockenfeller), the manufacturer’s title, and the team title. it’s only real game was peugeot, which walks away empty handed even though it won four of the five lms races, had two cars on the podium at the 24 hours of le mans, and had pole position for every people. next year’s battle by reason of franco-german supremacy should be even better. make the jump for audi’s embrace release.

Of Baby Bonus and other things

hello again ! thank you, max ! perchance i wouldn’t depart afterall. i was thinking perhaps a trade in offing, keep the title, but alter my topics, instead of forcing myself to try to write educational visionary stuff, i can lately switch to irreverent comments as a substitute for.i’ve been reading a blog by a chap who calls himself mr brown. if you want a little insight into our little realm people call the red spot - cos we’re a small little place that has managed to upset bigger countries - this blog has a complex funny way wide looking at things.i’m currently debating the advantages of putting baby into childcare. in a bid to increase our desperate birth rate, our government has offered a caboodle largely lot of stuff as incentives. babies who arrive from now will get to have mommy home as a replacement for 4 whole months, fully paid for by the employers and the government. actually, who thinks babies should associate with 6 months of titty milk, but the employers don’t agree. huge fuss there about losing female workers for 4 months, difficulty in finding coverage. and the mommies-to-be aren’t explicitly leaping with reference to joyfully either. they are afraid of losing their jobs , of not getting hired if they are married and in the reproductive age group , and so on.me ? the 4 months of paid disappear isn’t going to eschew persuade me to have in the offing another a certain. 3 kids are keeping me rather busy at the moment. but in addition to all that, the government is also giving out $300 a month in childcare subsidies for working mothers. that’s $300 a month, from 4 years, which is 300 x 12 x 4 = $14,400 !! free !! plus i can work during the in days of yore i stuff my poor baby into childcare, so there’s that money, plus my salary, which i gave up model year cialis levitra de ( breast milk is not unfastened, for those who mistakenly think else, in the poop indeed, for me, it costs a whole lot more in $$ terms than powdered milk !) . it adds up to rather a tittle. and i actually be fond of my job.that’s why the government is having trouble getting working mothers with decent salaries to stretch up work and have babies. plus, they’ve gone and forgotten about my nice neighbours who have sacrificed their careers for their kids. i have an mba holder who spends her days cleaning, and cooking and yelling at her 3 kids, who quite much spend their time ignoring her …but then her kids are lovely. and good friends with mother-lode. though i wish her youngest son, who’s double my daughter’s weight ( though the unchanged age) would stop tough to either hit her or brush her. both actions send her running to me yelling “cared” ( scared). and my kids are cute. and they circa they like me. and they include up transformers with shakespeare’s dealer of venice ( i heard them using optimus prime to bash rachet demanding a pound of flesh). and that nevertheless neighbour, while screaming at her kids to dress in old hat of her fridge and trying to defend to her harried husband on the phone, says nothing beats the care of a loving mother watching her children …and daddy thinks she’s too cheap to be replace through childcare like her brothers were. brothers, fit the record, thoroughly enjoy themselves at school cos they are in contrasting classes and get to rumble with other kids.oh stuff the money. she’s my last coddle. guess i’ve got an excuse not to work for a while longer. .

Related posts: Golden gate fields, Marat safina, Define eviscerated, The pit, Museum of crime and punishment

Pregame Thread: Cubs vs. Cardinals, Tuesday 9/9, 7:15 CT

Next Game

Chicago Cubs @ St. Louis Cardinals

Tuesday, Sep 9, 2008, 7:15 PM CDTBusch Stadium

Ryan Dempster vs Kyle Lohse

Mostly clear. Winds blowing from left to right field at 10-15 m.p.h. Game Time temperature: Around 65.

Complete Coverage >

Per Bruce Miles, the Cubs have called up Felix Pie and purchased the contract of Randy Wells:

it looks like the cubs will place pitcher jon lieber on the 60-daytime dl to make room for wells on the 40-man roster.

Randy Wells threw in one game for Toronto this year after the Jays picked him in the Rule 5 draft, then he was returned. He’s not really a prospect at age 26, but who knows? An extra arm can’t hurt.

Baseball-reference.com has been, for the last couple of weeks, keeping track of all HR hit, because the 250,000th HR in major league history was approaching. One of the least likeable guys in the game, Gary Sheffield, hit it last night in Detroit. According to this list, the very first ML HR was hit by a member of the Chicago National League Ball Club, Ross Barnes, on May 2, 1876.

Other milestone HR hit by or off of Cubs (no matter what the team nickname was at the time, it’s the franchise we root for):

#1000: Ned Williamson on July 4, 1884. Williamson set the single season HR record that year (27), a freak because of the short dimensions of Lake Front Park, where they then played their home games (the location is now in Millennium Park).

#10,000: Joe Tinker on September 5, 1903. Oddity: Tinker hit it off Mordecai Brown, a future teammate. It was Brown’s only year as a Cardinal; Tinker hit only 31 career HR.

Delaware election results

#100,000: hit by Hal King of the Braves off Fergie Jenkins on April 30, 1970.

#120,000: hit by Barry Foote of the Expos off Bruce Sutter on May 24, 1977. Foote had only 81 AB and acheter cialis 3 HR that year; this HR, hit in the 8th inning, tied that game and the Expos won in 15 innings. Less than a year later Foote and Sutter were Cub teammates.

#150,000: hit by the Phillies’ John Russell off Rick Sutcliffe on August 3, 1986.

Now, on to the business of getting some home runs — or better yet, just a lot of runs — against the Cardinals tonight.

Even Pam Richardson is at a loss to find substantial and marked differences in the political stances of the three Democrats vying for the 6th Middlesex state rep race. And she’s the incumbent running for re-election.

“To be honest I haven’t taken the time to study either of the candidates in the race, I’ve been concentrating on my campaign,” she said. “I believe that all three candidates are very similar on many of the issues.

“But we’re not the same as far as getting acheter cialis things done on Beacon Hill and that’s where I stand out from the levitra bestellen rest.”

Her opponents, Dawn Harkness and Chris Walsh, cast more issues-based aspersions when distancing themselves from their opponents on Friday.

Harkness cited her environmental advocacy.

Specifically, Harkness pointed to her Town Meeting proposal that resulted in the formation of the Greener Framingham Committee in the spring of 2007.

Among other things, the committee is charged with assessing the energy use, waste, and conservation in town-owned buildings and recommending ways to make Framingham more environmentally friendly. Those moves could also save the town a different kind of green - money.

Specifically the group provided the town information regarding present and potential alternative energy options and conservation methods the town can or could use, like a translucent roof for a new town maintenance garage.

Such information allowed the town to answer a “commonwealth capital” checklist that puts Framingham in a better position for state funding opportunities.

“I’m not afraid to identify and talk about things before they’re popular,” said Harkness.

Her nurturing of that committee, she said, delineates her from Richardson and fellow Town Meeting member Chris Walsh, who is also running for the post.

Citing a plan for a downtown overhaul that Walsh helped draft in the 1990s and mentioned during a debate last week that has yet to materialize, Harkness said, “They haven’t delivered anything like this.”

Of Richardson, Harkness said, “Pam’s approach is playing follow the leader. That’s not leadership.”

Walsh, meanwhile, said he would file legislation to revise a state law commonly referred to as the Dover Amendment. That provision allows projects that meet a certain criteria - such as having an educational or religious use - to skirt local zoning laws.

The vitriolic legal battle that has pitted the town against the South Middlesex Opportunity Council is “a direct consequence of the use of the Dover Amendment in Framingham,” according to Walsh.

SMOC, a human services organization, filed suit last fall against the town, claiming a conspiracy of town officials and residents blocked expansion of its programming.

Last week, SMOC took the town to land court after the Zoning Board of Appeals last month rejected a proposed move of the agency’s headquarters into a manufacturing zone. It cited Dover in its attempt to get the project approved. The ZBA did not think the facility featured a primary an educational use and rejected the Dover thinking. Now, SMOC is appealing that decision, citing a myriad of programs from child care to behavioral health care as being educational.

Ufc 88 fight results

Changing Dover, says Walsh, would “return local control and clear guidelines to the development of any facilities that might be needed to help vulnerable residents.”

Walsh suggests neither Harkness nor Richardson will lead on this issue.

“Ms. Richardson is mute, refusing to lend her support to previous legislative efforts on this issue while Ms. Harkness encourages confrontation over collaboration allowing personal passions to supersede public interests,” wrote Walsh in an e-mail.

The state primary is Tuesday, Sept. 16. There are no Republican candidates on the ballot.

The Labor Department’s report, released Friday, showed the increasing toll the housing, credit and financial crises are taking on the economy.

The report was sure to rattle Wall Street again. All the major stock indexes tumbled into bear territory Thursday as investors lost hope of a late-year recovery. With the employment situation deteriorating, there’s growing worry that consumers will recoil, throwing the economy into a tailspin later this year or early next year.

The jobless rate jumped to 6.1 percent in August, from 5.7 percent in July. And, employers cut payrolls for the eighth month in a row. Job losses in June and July turned out to be much deeper. The economy lost a whopping 100,000 jobs in June and another 60,000 in July, according to revised figures. Previously, the government reported job losses at 51,000 in each of those months.

The latest snapshot was worse than economists were forecasting. They were predicting payrolls would drop by around 75,000 in August and the jobless rate to tick up a notch, to 5.8 percent. The grim news comes as the race for the White House kicks into high gear. The economy’s troubles are Americans’ top worry.

Wachovia Corp., Ford Motor Co., Tyson Foods Inc. and Alcoa Inc. were among the companies announcing job cuts in August. GMAC Financial Services this week said it would lay off 5,000 workers.

Job losses in August were widespread. Factories cut 61,000 jobs, construction firms eliminated 8,000 jobs, retailers axed 20,000 slots, professional and business services slashed 53,000 positions and leisure and hospitality got rid of 4,000. Those acheter levitra losses swamped employment gains in the government, education and health.

Job losses at all private employers — not including government — came to 101,000 in August.

The government said workers age 25 and older accounted for all the increase in unemployment in August.

The National Hurricane Center said it expected the storm — still a Category 1 when its center hit Haiti, about 10 miles west of Jacmel — to reach Category 2 status by day’s end.

The hurricane has winds nearing 90 mph (145 kph) and higher gusts, the center said.

At 2 p.m. ET, Gustav was about 40 miles (64 kilometers) southwest of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and about 190 miles (305 kilometers) southeast of Guantanamo, Cuba.

The storm was moving northwest at 10 mph (16 kph), the hurricane center said. Gustav was expected to slow and turn west-northwest kaufen cialis Tuesday and move generally toward the northwest Wednesday.

The storm was expected to weaken slightly as it moves over Haiti, the center said, but it warned that the storm would restrengthen before approaching eastern Cuba on Wednesday.

Category 2 hurricanes have sustained winds between 96 and 110 mph, and storm surges are generally 6 to 8 feet above normal. iReport.com: See images of flooding in Dominican Republic

Gustav may become a "major hurricane," or at least Category 3, over the next few days, forecasters said.

The Cuban government issued a hurricane warning, meaning sustained winds of 74 mph (119 kph) are expected within a day, for the provinces of Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba and Granma.

Don’t Miss
