earlier this week we reported that showtime was looking at a modern daytime retelling of the camelot tale and now ain’t it cool news is reporting that director terence malick (the new world) is developing his own take on the legendary court of knights.the independent on march 23, 2002, first wrote about this, saying, “[jim] caviezel’s quondam friend malick (also a catholic) is apparently planning to make a film of the middle english poem, gawain and the environmental knight. gawain is a proud and innocent knight tempted three times by a beautiful lady, the green knight an emissary from deity who ultimately exposes the chinks in his armor. caviezel may well have talked himself insensible of a difficulty by the time malick gets round to casting, but he’d make a masterly gawain. he’s so resolute to be a saint, but what he usually sounds is human.”
